Last weekend, we spent a whirlwind three days in San Francisco. It was an amazing time reconnecting with friends, enjoying some of the best meals ever, exploring new-to-us areas of the city, and, most memorably, taking a spontaneous trip to Napa. After landing in San Francisco, we quickly learned that one of our New York City friends who recently moved to Seattle was also going to be in town for the weekend to meet up with friends from college. They were planning a day in Napa and invited us to tag along. So a Saturday spent in Muir Woods was quickly replaced, with no reservation or regret.
Not knowing much about Napa in advance, our first stop of the day was Luna Vineyards, one of the first vineyards you pass on picturesque Silverado Trail.
We ended up spending four amazing hours sipping our six-flight wine tasting and enjoying the sunshine and gorgeous scenery. It was the perfect escape from our crazy (and cold) New York City lives.
And we have to give a shout out to our server Tyler, who gave us some great recommendations for other vineyards to stop by, and a lunch of amazing ribs, jalapeno cornbread and an Oreo ice cream sandwich at Rutherford Grill.
It was the ideal day trip, but we're anxious to go back for a real weekend of wine in Napa.
Stay tuned for some more highlights from our San Francisco vacation to come!
