We may be planning for a trip to Paris later this year, but we don't need to go far for a taste of Parisian architecture. Right around the corner from Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the Brooklyn Museum is Grand Army Plaza, with its iconic Soldiers' and Sailers' Arch serving as New York's version of the Arch de Triomphe.
It's also a pretty spectacular way to greet visitors to Prospect Park.
The Brooklyn Public Library across the street only adds to the grandiose feel of the area. Its entrance is meant to resemble an open book and its style easily transports us to ancient Greece and Rome.
If you're in the area--and even if you're not--we recommend visiting this corner of the borough for a distinctly un-stereotypical Brooklyn experience.
